The GOP is befuddled…as bad a president at Obama is (and he is), Romney just isn’t catching fire and they don’t know why. Here’s a few ideas:
1) He’s got the personality of dry toast and has no connection to real folks. 2) He stinks of corporate welfare, and we all know it — especially after the rampant cheating during the primary and convention processes. 3) While it’s not a fair criticism — he’s Mormon, and there are a lot of folks turned off by that. 4) He’s given usĀ no plan for downsizing government spending, other than bland platitudes. 5) He’s intensely gaffe-prone in that John Kerry, cant’ eat a hot-dog sort of way…
There’s so much wrong with the statements above it’s hard to know where to start. Obama’s in the same bag as Romney — about a third of the country is locked into team sports-style politics. They might as well be wearing jerseys with the candidates names on them. (Considering the commodification of Obama, we should see this in their online store by tomorrow…if they don’t already have them.) The 47% comment shows the establishment mentality — half the country is one party or other. They’re wrong. There’s a good third of the nation that doesn’t identify with Democrats or Republicans, and for good reason — they’re both big-government statist groups that use a portion of (real) liberal rhetoric to dupe their followers.
But remember, the establishment assures us Romney’s “electable”…just like John McCain was.
