This story keeps getting worse. For those of you voting for Obama because you have no clue what’s going on in the world around you, here’s the recap: Our illustrious, completely-incompetent or criminal (take your pick) “leader” allowed our consulate in Benghazi to be attacked for seven hours with no relief. They had pulled the security contingent prior to the attack on 9/11 — despite credible warnings and indicators that the ambassador there was in danger. Ansar al-Sharia, an al-Qaida affiliate, had been planning this, in concert with other groups that launched an assault on the Cairo and Sanaa embassies. They also immediately took responsibility for the attack.

During the attacks, there were two — count ‘em, two — AC-130Us that had the assailants of American soil painted; they could have ended the attack in a truly impressive display of firepower. They were told to stand down. The in extremis rapid response force was told to stand down. This apparently was enough to lead the commander of AFRICOM to disobey orders and prep a rescue. He was relieved of command. As a result, Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other men died at the hands of a horde of murderous religious fanatics.

In the aftermath, the Incompetent-in-Chief decided to lie, bold-faced, to the people when he blamed his on an internet video of little consequence, and sent our his drones to do the same — Susan Rice, the UN ambassador knew she was lying when she threw the blame at the “anti-Islam video”. The president knew he was lying when he went out and blamed the videographer (who was conveniently arrested a few days later on “unrelated charges”) for the Benghazi incident. Biden knew. Carney knew. The lifelike robot DWS knew. Stephanie “No Relation with Reality” Cutter knew. They actively prevented FBI investigations of the scene.

But it didn’t wash, and they had been playing cover-up and cover my ass ever since. Hillary Clinton tried to throw herself on her sword, but it didn’t work. Leon Panetta has tried to excuse the inaction as “we don’t commit forces without all the information” as the reason no aid was provided Ambassador Stevens. The big news services gladly went along with the “no intelligence to suggest this was a planned attack” line because they’re desperate to have the Lightbringer a second term in which he will give us all free stuff, world peace, and probably  unicorns.

Now, the official story is that Commander-in-Chief was unaware of an attack on an embassy in a country he was dedicatedly meddling in a year ago. An embassy is also American soil. And attack on it is an attack on the nation. But he didn’t know nuthin’, no way… Except he did.

Here’s a few reasons why the official story is crap. As soon as the consulate came under attack, they would have sent a FLASH message to the embassy in Tripoli, which would have been pushed up instantly to the White House situation room and AFRICOM operations rooms. FLASH traffic is highest priority and has to be passed on to the flagged officials. That would have been National Command Authority (the president) and General Ham. The message would have been called in or texted to the military attache accompanying the president. He knew. The only person that would have been able to issue a standdown order is the president. Not Clinton. Not Panetta. Obama. (Or perhaps the puppetmistress Valerie Jarrett.)

Here’s why it’s important: Either the administration was grossly negligent (to be charitable), incompetent, or actively abetted the attacks by “ignoring” the W&I that an attack was imminent, by not allowing the Spooky on site to light up the attacker, and by attempting to deflect blame to the United States and “anti-Islamic” sentiment. No matter what the reason they allowed the assault to happen and did not respond, it’s criminal. There is not a single one of these officials who should not be in jail or swinging from the pole for this. They, in effect, murdered these four men. (That’s certainly the opinion of the father of one of the victims.)

Here’s the confusion: Why? Why would the administration allow, ignore, or abet the attack? There’s the charitable response: they’re idiots — incompetent or criminally negligent. But here’s another idea: Obama has put a lot of stock in supporting the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and the rest of the Middle East as a “legitimate” group with which to negotiate. (Do not underestimate the influence of Iranian-born Valerie Jarrett — she made him, politically and as a “black man”; he openly admits he does what she tells him to.)

Their investment in the MB requires them to address their concerns, a major one being the extradition of the blind sheik, Omar Abdel-Rahman — the mastermind of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. President Morsi in Egypt wants this snake back, and the administration is not adverse to the idea. However, the chances this would go over well with the American public was a big round multiple of zero.

I suspect the original intent of the Benghazi attack was the kidnapping of Ambassador Stevens. I think the administration and Muslim Brotherhood conspired to “force the United States to trade” Stevens for Abdel-Rahman. It’s the sort of overly-arcane idiocy we saw with the “tracking” weapons in Operation Gunrunner. If I’m right, this rises well beyond criminality into the realm of treason.
