I’ve blogged on the evils of asset forfeiture, but here’s the Institute of Justice giving us the blow-by-blow on this terrible law, and how it being misused.

And it’s not the only assaults on your liberties. The Supreme Court has never been particularly reliable as a bulwark against deprivation by the other branches of government, and especially so during periods of Progressive meddling. So there’s not much hope that they’ll see reason and not destroy our fair and first use rights to property we’ve purchased.

(This last case is tremendously important…imagine not being able to dispose of “property” you purchased from overseas without the permission of the manufacturer. How many of your home electronics are made overseas? Your clothes? Your software? How many of you have foreign cars? Think it through.)
