Ever since his election, French President Francois Hollande has been pushing a 75% income tax on those making more than a million euros. The green, green train of envy, however, hasn’t quite been able to pull into the station: Wealthy French are fleeing the country and taking their money with them — including the former President, Nikolas Sarkozy, and businesses are looking to decamp to greener pastures. It’s an instructive moment, and apparently not lost on the socialists in charge of the country, who are no rethinking the tax plan.

If you steal from people, they will flee or fight. It’s a lesson the current crop of Progressives in the United States need to learn, especially as the surge in gun and ammunition sales suggests the American people aren’t going to choose the first option if pushed too much further.
