Here is Ethan Young, a high school student at Farragut High School in Knox County, Tennessee, giving his testimony on the efficacy of Common Core — the massive, top-down disaster that was cobbled together by “experts” at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and other Progressive think tanks, and passed by the Department of Education without any Congressional input.

Any opposition to Common Core means the state loses their Federal “Race to the Top” grants — effectively, they’ve been bribed to dumb down curricula, while increasing the workload of students, and reduce the ability of teachers to tailor learning for the kids while increasing their responsibility to do so.

Having seen some of this material, I’m appalled by the inflexibility of the curriculum. My nephew is already being hammered by terrible teaching materials that have whole pages of instructions for a math exercise that are written in different languages. If the goal was to create a mass of dejected, uninspired automatons, Common Core might be just the thing.

Me..? I’m homeschooling my kid.
