California State Senator Kevin “Poncy” de Leon is an idiot. Perhaps not rising to Hank “Guam might tip over and capsize” Johnson, but stupid enough to trot out a load of easily fact-checked nonsense on guns. Had he any self-respect, he could have had a staffer hit Wikipedia, or talk to one of the cops at the California capitol, to have some knowledge of firearms before making this statement:

This is a “ghost gun.” This right here has ability with a 30-caliber clip to disperse with 30 bullets within half a second. 30-magazine clip in half a second….

Presumably, this halfwit is talking about 3D printing of gun parts when he speaks of “ghost guns” — without the slightest knowledge, of course, of how a 3D printer works. The sintered plastics and metal can be used to create a weapon, yes; however, I don’t think there’s a wealth of folks stupid enough to fire any kind of .30 caliber rifle round through extruded metal. As to the ludicrously stupid statement highlighted above…

A little hint for anti-gun politicians…take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the terminology and function of the devices you are talking about. It might make you much more credible.
