After yet another example of the uselessness of our elected officials — in this case it’s the “battle” over the extension of the Federal Aviation Administration funding — Harry Reid made another ham-handed attempt to blame Republicans for his having blocked the extension funding, but not offering up a plan of his own. (Sound familiar? Ask yourself what this colossal tool does all day.)
Even the usual sycophants to the Senate weren’t buying this one.
So for two weeks, airline taxes weren’t collected and 4000 people were laid off, thanks to the lazy, overbearing nature of this shade of a man. Good job, Nevada. He couldn’t even be bothered to fight the “onerous” legislation out of the House. He whined for a fortnight, then just gave in and passed it with unanimous consent. Wait, what? If the Democrats hated this so bloody much, why did they just deem it passed?
Maybe a bit more time doing their jobs and a bit less time trying to squeeze every last bit of Republican-hating theater out of their membership would serve the nation better. Oh, that’s right, it’s not about the nation. It’s about a small group of people that think themselves modern day aristocrats, and who wish to lord it over the populous.
By the way, other than those laid off, did anyone notice a drop in airline service? No? Keep that in mind at the next FAA authorization. Maybe it’s time to decommission most of the agency and let the airlines modernize air traffic control to GPS, change air traffic controller work hours, and just maybe…we’ll be safer and fly cheaper.
